Connect Your Kindle to Your Computer
- USB Cable: Use the USB cable that came with your Kindle to connect it to your computer.
- Wait for Recognition: Wait for your computer to recognize the Kindle.
Transfer the eBook File
- Open File Explorer/Finder: Open File Explorer on Windows or Finder on macOS.
- Locate Kindle Device: Find your Kindle device listed under “This PC” or “Devices” on Windows, or in the sidebar on macOS.
- Open Kindle Folder: Click on your Kindle device to open its folder.
- Navigate to Documents Folder: Open the “Documents” or “Books” folder within the Kindle directory.
- Drag and Drop: Drag and drop your eBook file into the “Documents” or “Books” folder.
Safely Eject Your Kindle
- Eject Kindle: Safely eject your Kindle from your computer by right-clicking on the Kindle device icon and selecting “Eject.”
- Disconnect USB Cable: Unplug the USB cable from your Kindle and computer.
Access the eBook on Your Kindle
- Turn on Kindle: Turn on your Kindle device.
- Library Check: Navigate to your Kindle library.
- Find eBook: Your transferred eBook should appear in your library. Select it to start reading.
- Find Your Kindle Email: Each Kindle device has a unique email address. You can find this in the Kindle settings under “Device Options” > “Personalize Your Kindle” > “Send-to-Kindle Email.”
- Send Email: Compose an email to your Kindle email address with the eBook file attached.
- Sync Device: Ensure your Kindle is connected to Wi-Fi and sync it to receive the file.

Amazon Cloud: You can also use Amazon’s “Send to Kindle” app or website to upload files directly to your Kindle via Wi-Fi.
